A 2018 clinical trial published in the British Journal of Dermatology found bakuchiol delivered comparable anti-aging results to retinol with better tolerability so you get similar smoothing and firming benefits without the typical retinol irritation or purging period.
This serum was actually created for that reason traditional retinol isn't recommended during pregnancy, and bakuchiol is the plant-based alternative many turn to instead. That said, please check with your doctor before starting anything new during pregnancy or while nursing.
